What to see and do in and around Munich

Munich is a city, with fantastic art and culture, and a great beer! Go to the opera by the Bavarian State Ministry for a show, visit the museums, in the park and enjoy the food and specialty drinks in a bar, a cafe or restaurant! Munich is the capital of Bavaria.

What to do and see, and in the vicinity of Munich:

Marienplatz
Marienplatz is the heart of Munich, the Gothic town hall of the carillon (mechanical clock) steps, a power 3 times per day with approximately the size of the figures on the tournaments of knights and dance! Climb to the top of the town hall for the view over the city.

Deutsches Museum
The German Museum is one of the largest museums of nature and science and technology. The museum is located on an island in the Isar, including requests to transport, astrology, agriculture, blown glass, mining, printing and much more!

Frauenkirche (Church of Notre-Dame)

Alte Pinakothek
Alte Pinakothek is one of the best in Western Europe, art museums. It consists of European works from the Middle Ages until the end of the Rococo, including work by Rembrandt, Rubens, Durer, Brueghel, Cranach and Giotto. Pinakothek der Moderne
Pinakothek der Moderne refers to the art of the 19th and 20th Century – including paintings, drawings, jewelry, sculpture, photography and architecture. Artists represented in the collection of Andy Warhol, Picasso, Leonardo da Vinci and Kandinsky.

Hofbräuhaus Beer Hall
Hofbräuhaus Beer Hall in Munich is the most famous pub – beer here in the Bavarian style. Beer glasses in liters, the guests sit on long wooden benches to hear the traditional Bavarian brass band music and eating pretzels!

Olympic Stadium

Hellabrunn Zoo
Hellabrunn Zoo Park is a vast territory in the south of Munich, with more than 5000 animals. The zoo specializes in breeding of rare animals. Animals live in their natural habitat. The zoo is by bus from the city center.

Neuschwanstein Castle
Neuschwanstein Castle is located in the campaign from Munich – but worth a visit. The fairy tale style castle was built by King Ludwig in the 19th Century and was inspired by Disney’s Cinderella’s Palace. You can make a small tour of the castle – the visit of the 15 rooms – looking for wood for the sculptures in the room of the king, who had 4 1 / 2 years to finish!
