My whole life I lived in Detroit. I often struggled with whom I had
visitors from outside the city. Detroit is not Chicago, New York or
Boston. But if you’re in the right place, there are numerous
attractions.
To be honest, Detroit has a better time. Growing up in the city, I
remember many great things about the city, there is now no more.
However, I believe that the city is up and there is a great future
ahead. Downtown Detroit has improved, and there are many other
improvements in the work. For those who are entrepreneurial initiative,
I think this is a great place to be.
In this article I will give you my Top Ten, what you should do on your visit to Detroit.
1. The mind should be a day in the Detroit Institute of Arts. The
museum has more than 60,000 works of art in the collection. The
collection includes paintings by Cezanne, Degas, Rembrandt, Rubens, and
Warhol.
2. Visit of Belle Isle. An island of the park, located in the
Detroit River, originally in 1883 by Fred Rick Law Olmstead. It was the
designer of Central Park in New York. At the tip of the island, you
will find a beautiful view of downtown Detroit.
3. A hot dog at Lafayette Coney Iceland. A “Coney” in Detroit, is
a hot dog in the chili, mustard and onions. Lafayette is the best in
the city. It is not a dog. Make sure, chili fries and cola.
4. Every Saturday, visit the market. It is the farmer in the
market for the region. After the boat trip on the spectacular fruits,
vegetables, meat and other foods at the top of Russell Street Deli.
Sandwiches and food can not be beaten.
5. For lovers of animals, visit the Zoo in Detroit. The zoo is not
in the right Detroit. It is only a few miles outside the city in Royal
Oak. More than 3,000 animals call the zoo home. As a cultural jewel.
6. Now that the Detroit Tigers are in the race, take in a baseball
game in the new stadium. After the game, a trip to the old Tigers
Stadium of Michigan and Trumbull. Marvel, where Ty Cobb once played.
May it soon disappeared.
7. For what I use the ruins of Detroit, Michigan, visit the old
train station. It was in 1913 and 1987, abandoned. It is the largest
train station, which I never met. Can you have a spectacular view of
the building, if you have the Ambassador Bridge from Canada. You can
not miss the building. He is the one who no windows.
8. Take a trip to Windsor, Canada. It is only a few kilometers in
the tunnel or the Ambassador Bridge. Windsor is a beautiful city and
many restaurants. The best restaurants are located on the Erie Road.
9. Take a walk on the periphery. Just outside the city, visit to
Ferndale, Royal Oak and Birmingham. They are all from the Woodward
Avenue corridor. Each of these cities have a small center with shops
and restaurants. Each of them is an afternoon for all shipping.
10. Next up on the floor Woodward visit Cranbrook. Medical started
early 1900. It has architecture of Eliel Saarinen, Albert Kahn, Steven
Holl, Tod Williams and Billie Tsien and Rafael Moneo. It has been
described as “the magician enchanted and in America.”
I hope my recommendations will give you ideas to do on your visit
to Detroit. I’m sure I missed some good pitches. The key when visiting
anywhere, leave and explore.
